Found a Lost Angel?
If you have found a stray dog, thank you for stepping in to help them. You may be the reason they are safe today.
Before placement can be considered, we must first make every effort to reunite them with their original family. Many lost dogs are deeply loved and simply trying to find their way home.
First Steps: Please Check for Their Family
Before submitting a stray placement request, please complete these important steps:
1. Check for a Microchip
Any veterinary clinic or animal shelter can scan for a microchip at no cost. This is often the fastest way to reunite a dog with their family.
2. Post on Social Media and Lost Pet Groups
Post clear photos and location details on:
Local Facebook lost and found pet groups
Nextdoor
PawBoost
Your local community pages
3. Check with Local Shelters and Animal Control
Report the found dog to nearby shelters and animal control in case the family is actively searching.
These steps give lost dogs the best chance of returning home safely.
When Placement Assistance Is Needed
If you have completed these steps and are unable to locate the dog’s guardian, Animal Angels Network may be able to assist.
Please submit our Stray Surrender Form so we can evaluate how to help safely and responsibly.
Photos Help Save Lives
Clear, high-quality photos are one of the most important factors in helping a dog find placement quickly.
After submitting the form, please email photos to:
animalangelsnetwork@gmail.com
Helpful photos include:
Full body standing photo
Face close-up
Side profile
Any unique markings
Good photos help potential fosters and adopters see the dog clearly and greatly improve placement success.
Legal & Placement Responsibility Notice
Animal Angels Network provides placement assistance for stray dogs as resources and foster availability allow. Submission of a stray surrender form does not guarantee intake or immediate placement.
The individual who has found the dog remains responsible for the dog’s care, safety, and supervision unless and until Animal Angels Network formally confirms transfer of responsibility.
We strongly encourage all finders to make reasonable efforts to locate the dog’s original guardian, including microchip scanning, community outreach, and reporting the found dog to local shelters or animal control, in accordance with local regulations.
Animal Angels Network is committed to protecting every Animal Angel entrusted to us and ensuring each transition is handled safely, ethically, and responsibly.
Our Commitment to Every Animal Angel
Our rescue operates with limited foster space and resources, and placement is not always immediate. However, every request is carefully reviewed, and we work to help as many dogs as possible.
By helping this dog and submitting their information, you are giving them a chance at safety, protection, and a future filled with love.
Animal Angels Network cannot accept dogs without prior approval and confirmed placement arrangements.
