PetTrust Program

✨ Purpose:

The PetTrust Program ensures that pets are properly cared for in the event of their owner’s death or incapacitation, removing the burden from families and eliminating the risk of pets being surrendered, abandoned, or euthanized.

📍 Local Pilot Region:

Southwest,Missouri and surrounding areas, expanding outward as capacity allows.

🧩 How It Works:

  1. Enrollment:

    Pet owners complete a PetTrust intake form to designate a caregiver and provide veterinary and behavioral history of the pet.

  2. Oversight:

    Animal Angels Network oversees the agreement between the pet owner and caregiver. In cases where no trusted individual is available, Animal Angels Network coordinates with vetted rescue partners.

  3. Activation:

    In the event of death, hospitalization, or incapacitation, a designated point of contact (family member, legal rep, hospital, or law enforcement) triggers the trust. The pet is then cared for according to the instructions outlined in the contract.

  4. Follow-Through:

    Animal Angels Network monitors the pet’s placement, checking in with the caregiver and offering long-term support or alternate placement if needed.
